Quote of the Day
Creature of the Day
werewolf
"In folklore, a werewolf, or occasionally lycanthrope, is an individual who can shapeshift into a wolf or therianthropic hybrid wolfโhumanlike creature, either voluntarily or involuntarily due to a curse or other affliction. In modern fiction, especially film, transformations are often depicted as triggered by the full moon and transmitted by a bite or scratch from another werewolf. Early sources for belief in this ability or affliction, called lycanthropy, are Petronius (27โ66) and Gervase of Tilbury (1150โ1228)."

Elements: overrated spark wend
I was in this lovely, half-dusk glow, a really soft light, maybe my living room just after sunset. There was this tiny flicker, almost shy, just a little spark dancing near the edge of a well-loved wooden table. It wasn't dazzling, nothing like the grand, showy flames everyone usually chased after, but it had this quiet, humble glow that felt deeply significant to me, in its own unassuming way.
I remember leaning into it, not with force, but with a gentle breath, subtly guiding its path. Like coaxing a hesitant butterfly, I wended that small, unassuming light, helping it drift across the smooth grain of the table, then up a few inches into the warm air. It was a slow, deliberate kind of dance, and there was no urgency, no need for it to become anything more than it was. Just the simple, profound satisfaction of tending to something so small and real.
The warmth it gave off wasn't intense, but a steady, comfortable hum that settled deep in my chest. It truly was an overrated spark in the grand scheme, but in that moment, in that quiet act of tending, it was everything โ a perfect little beacon of peace, reminding me that the greatest meaning often hides in the simplest of tasks.
