Quote of the Day
Creature of the Day
ophiotaurus
"In Greek mythology, the Ophiotaurus was a creature that was part bull and part snake. Its only known appearance in an ancient work was in Ovid's Fasti. In this poem, it was the subject of a prophecy which warned that whoever burned its innards would defeat the gods. Briareus of the Hecatoncheires attempted to burn the Ophiotaurus' innards, but was foiled by birds sent by Zeus. This story was part of the larger Titanomachy that set the gods against the Titans. Various interpretations of the creature have been presented by scholars of classical Greece."

Dream of the Day
Mood: whimsical | Archetype: Lover
Elements: rabid bull groan
I found myself wandering through a meadow of impossibly tall, shimmering wildflowers that hummed with a light, golden melody. The air was thick with the scent of jasmine and something like warm honey, and iridescent butterflies the size of my hand drifted lazily past my nose. It felt like walking through a living poem, every petal a whisper of beauty. Then, from behind a towering sapphire-blue poppy, he burst forth โ a magnificent bull, shimmering obsidian hide, eyes aflame with a frantic, almost desperate energy. His breath, surprisingly, carried the tang of wild thyme, not froth, though his movements were undeniably, passionately *rabid*.
He snorted, pawing at the ground, a whirlwind of untamed desire. "Oh, *you*," I sighed, a fond, weary groan escaping my lips, "Always so much... *enthusiasm*." He wasn't monstrous, not really. He was simply *too much*, an overflowing chalice of raw, unbridled affection, desperate to connect, to *be* seen and felt. I didn't fear him; instead, I felt a familiar pull, a magnetic understanding of that wild, unbridled heart yearning for an embrace, even if it meant risking a passionate stampede.
I reached out a hand, not to calm, but to acknowledge, to meet that fervor with my own steady warmth. His glowing eyes met mine, and for a fleeting moment, the rabid intensity softened, a primal, ancient longing shimmering beneath the surface. It was as if he was the embodiment of all the world's untamed passion, a beautiful, frightening force that merely craved to be understood and loved, exactly as he was. I simply smiled, a silent promise to meet his intensity with all the gentle acceptance I could muster, knowing that true connection often dances at the edge of beautiful madness.
