Creature of the Day

megalania

megalania

"Megalania is an extinct species of giant monitor lizard, part of the megafaunal assemblage that inhabited Australia during the Pleistocene. It is the largest terrestrial lizard known to have existed, but the fragmentary nature of known remains make estimates highly uncertain. Studies suggest that most known specimens would have reached around 2โ€“2.4ย m (6.6โ€“7.9ย ft) in body length excluding the tail, while some individuals would have been significantly larger, reaching sizes around 4.5ย m (15ย ft), 5.5ย m (18ย ft) or perhaps even 7ย m (23ย ft) in total length."

Dream of the Day

Mood: whimsical | Archetype: Lover
Elements: wide-eyed tail disprove

Dream Illustration

I was walking through a landscape bathed in perpetual soft twilight, everything around me shimmering with an internal, inviting glow, and the air was thick with the most exquisite scent of jasmine. My whole being felt utterly open, a delicious longing stirring in my chest, yearning for beauty and connection in this ethereal space. It was like I was ready to fall in love with the very fabric of existence.

Then, I saw it: a magnificent, graceful being, entirely composed of swirling velvet and captured moonlight, like a living sculpture of pure romance. Its tail, long and elegant, curved with such dramatic flair, ending in a perfect, round disc that looked, for all the world, like a huge, innocent, wide-eyed gaze. My heart swelled, convinced it was expressing a profound, tender vulnerability. "Oh, the soul in its very tail!" I thought, completely enchanted, but as I leaned closer, a tiny shift in the light revealed it wasn't an eye at all, but an intricate, masterful swirl of iridescent fabric, perfectly designed to trick the heart. "You clever, beautiful thing," I whispered, a fond, knowing smile playing on my lips. "Just a lovely illusion."
